Hans Herbots and Geert Van Rampelberg in Antwerp on the shooting of the new movie
Filming has now begun in Antwerp Belgium on the film based on the international bestseller ‘The Treatment (‘De Behandeling‘). Due for release in spring 2014, the book is reworked into a screenplay by Carl Joos who previously wrote the screenplay for feature films including “The Alzheimer Case” and “Dossier K ‘.
The new film is directed by the award winning director Hans Herbots. After his directorial debut in 2001 with Falling , the feature films followed – Extended Weekend (2005), Gale Force 10 – Koksijde Rescue (2006) and Bo (2010). For television, he directed recently including the prestigious series The Divine Monster and The Spiral.
Hans: “The treatment must be a compelling film, crawling under the skin. Geert Van Rampelberg is one of the most versatile actors of recent years. He carries the film. His creation of Nick Cafmeyer must be complex. If a prisoner is in an invisible cage, is the key to the cage buried in his past, or hidden in his personality? With The Treatment, I want to make a dark, interesting, visually impressive and most memorable movie.”
